DATE AND TIMINGS:
Monday 9 February 2026
10:30am to 3:00pm
VENUE:
The Royal Institution (Ri), London, W1S 4BS.
The nearest tube station is Green Park. Visit the Ri website for more details about travelling to the Ri.
BOOKING:
Visit our booking page for more info about the booking process, and to book.
Discount tickets (state schools only) are priced at £16 per student. Unfortunately the discount tickets are now all sold out. You can add yourself to the waiting list for discount tickets on the Booking Page.
Regular tickets are priced at £24 per student.
Inside Maths is not VAT registered.
Please note that Inside Maths 2025 received external financial support that subsidised the price of the tickets. Unfortunately we were not able to attract funding for 2026 – this reflects in the price of the tickets. Without the external financial support, the tickets need to be more expensive than in 2025 to make the event financially viable.
The day is also now an hour longer than it was in 2025.
State schools:
There are 100 discount tickets available exclusively for state schools.
ADULTS:
Every school can book up to two adult tickets free of charge (if you need more than this let us know).
Students must be supervised at all times by an adult of behalf of the school (this could be a teacher or parent) who is responsible for them.
STUDENTS:
The event is strictly for year 5 students only, and is designed for students whose attainment in maths is above average.
Schools can book for up to a maximum of 15 students each.
Our ultimate dream is that Inside Maths inspires students (who perhaps wouldn’t otherwise) to continue their maths study beyond when it is compulsory. When selecting students, we encourage schools to prioritise higher-attaining students who are from groups that are under-represented in STEM subjects. This is defined by the House of Commons Committee as ‘women, people from certain ethnic backgrounds, people with disabilities, those from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds and those who declared themselves as being LGBTQ+’. You can find out more from the House of Commons Committee Diversity and Inclusion in STEM report from 2023.
FOOD/DRINKS:
Lunch break is scheduled from around 12:30 to 1:10pm
Students and adults will need to bring a packed lunch. Lunch is not provided and there is not time to go offsite.
